This organic gold ring was handcrafted in Katie's Montana studio using 14-karat gold and an orange Montana sapphire. This ring honors the handcrafted jewelry process, balancing a refined signet shape with the rough and natural textures of gold. 
 
The sapphire is cast-in-place, an experiment in trusting the process and allowing the natural materials to shine. In the cast-in-place method, the sapphire is placed in the ring and the molten gold is allowed to flow around it (rather than setting the stone later in the process), which creates a natural and organic style of jewelry.
 
The sapphire is an orange Montana sapphire, meticulously sourced from a local master jeweler's personal collection.
